Cancer Support Group in Broward County
If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cancer, it can be an overwhelming and frightening experience. There are many resources available to help you cope with your diagnosis and treatment, and one of those is a cancer support group. A cancer support group can provide emotional support, practical advice, and information about treatments and clinical trials.
We partnered up with Dr. Brito, a cancer survivor, to provide Broward County with a Cancer Support Group that meets up online.
The group meets once a month, it's free, and is open to anyone who has been affected by cancer-either as a patient, caregiver, family member, or friend.
What to Expect During Your Cancer Support Group Session
AcuMantras' Cancer Support Group is open to anyone who has been affected by cancer, either directly or indirectly. This can include patients, caregivers, family members, and friends. The purpose of the group is to provide emotional support and practical advice to those affected by cancer.

If you filled out your form online, you can head straight to the AcuMantras studio and wait for the instructor to begin the class. If you booked for online participation, you can skip this step.

When you join the cancer support group, you can expect to:
- Share your story with others who understand what you're going through
- Listen to others share their stories
- Learn about new treatments and clinical trials
- Get practical advice from others who have been there before
- Express your feelings in a safe and supportive environment
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve your quality of life!

Towards the end of the session, the group will take some time to close. This is a time for everyone to share any final thoughts or comments. Dr. B will then thank everyone for coming and remind them of the next meeting date and time.
We know that cancer can be a tough battle, but you don't have to fight it alone. Our group is here to provide emotional support and practical advice. We hope to see you at our next meeting! We hope to see you at our next cancer support group session!
What is a Cancer Support Group?
A cancer support group is a community of people who are affected by cancer, either directly or indirectly. This can include patients, caregivers, family members, and friends. The purpose of a cancer support group is to provide emotional support and practical advice to those impacted by cancer.
Dr. Brito is the perfect person to run a Cancer Support Group. She has been through it all and is still going. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma, Stage IV in December 2012, but she kept fighting. Furthermore, she went through Chemotherapy which gave her more strength to keep going, and eventually, she won the battle against cancer.
She knows how important it is to have emotional support when going through something like this, and that’s why she wants to provide Broward County with a Cancer Support Group.
